Mark Bower and Benjamin McCall, members of Jensen Baird’s Government Services Practice Group, recently presented at the Maine Municipal Association’s annual Technology & New Energy Conference, held this year over Zoom in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The presentation highlighted the process of negotiating ground leases and power purchase agreements between Maine municipalities and solar energy developers. In addition, the presentation provided practical tips for ensuring that existing municipal land use and zoning ordinances are updated to accommodate the unique issues that solar energy development presents.
